Apex Equipment has added a new video of trash trucks for sale to the Apex trash truck video gallery. Apex sells certified pre owned trash trucks, which must pass a series of inspections and tests before being released for work. Each trash truck undergoes an initial analysis by a qualified mechanical technician, prior to purchase, to ensure that it will conform to the Apex trash truck acquisition standards. A trash truck that passes the initial onsite evaluation will then be purchased and transported to the Apex Equipment refurbishing center, where it will undergo a more vigorous inspection process, known as the Apex 210 Point Inspection, to determine any defects in the equipment.
The trash trucks that make it to the Apex 210, will receive a thorough investigation of drivetrain, drivetrain peripheral, cab, electrical, body, hoist, hydraulic, suspension, and steering components. Putting the trash truck under this intense scrutiny, reveals any deficiencies that did not appear during the original onsite analysis. Once any faults are exposed, Apex begins the refurbish, or certification(depending on the year) process. This is the stage where the Apex restoration technicians review the repair order and begin making the necessary upgrades to the trash truck.
Any trash truck with a leaking hydraulic cylinder, will have the cylinder disassembled, the piston shaft and cylinder bore visually inspected for damage, and repaired or replaced if needed. Then the seal is repacked, the cylinder reassembled, and reinstalled, and will be tested, again later, by the quality control department during a final detailed inspection of the entire vehicle.
Trash trucks where trunnion problems have been identified, will have the the trunnion disassembled, the shaft inspected(and replaced if necessary), and the bushings replaced with new bushings, to correct the issue. Broken and severely worn rear suspension and lift axle air bags are replaced with new air bags. Broken leaf springs are also replaced.
Trash trucks with steering issues like worn kingpin bushings will have the bushings replaced, damaged kingpins will have the kingpins replaced, draglinks, tierods, U-Bolts, gear boxes, and any other steering mechanisms on the trash truck will all be replaced or repaired if needed.
Any body defects will be repaired, and part replaced, and the body repainted if necessary, to bring back the aesthetics of the truck. A clients company colors may be added at this point in the process.
A Federal DOT inspection will be performed, on the trash truck, by an outside independent source. The truck will come back at that time, and have any new items detected by the inspection repaired. This will ensure that the truck is road worthy as well as work ready.
